The Bering Strait School District Board of Education will conduct interviews on December 3, 2025 at approximately 11:30am for the provisional appointments of Seat E (UNK, SKK, KKA) and Seat I (GAM, SVA) on the Board and is accepting public comment on the following candidates:
SEAT E: UNK,SKK,KKA

Tony Haugen Sr.
Sherilee Ivanoff
Silas Paniptchuk
SEAT I: GAM, SVA
Renita Toolie

Comment will be accepted until December 3, 2025. Any further comments may be provided in the regular meeting during public comment on agenda items.
Per federal law, comment on the following will not be accepted:
Birthplace, national origin, ancestry or race
Age
Religion or creed
Health
Political affiliations
Fraternal organizations
Marital status or children
Criminal record, unless relevant to work
The Board of Education may appoint a candidate to Seat E and Seat I directly after interviews.
Candidates would be a provisional appointment where they would serve until the next regular election held October 6, 2026.
