• Elementary and Junior High students must attend during their scheduled Open Gym time.
• If students want to attend a different time, they must bring a parent or legal guardian.
• Students who attend outside their time block without a parent/guardian will be asked to leave.
• Older siblings or relatives do NOT meet the expectation of a parent/guardian.
• Not following expectations may result in loss of Open Gym privileges.
📝 Weight Room Access – New Expectations
To help keep the weight room open and safe for everyone:
✔ Weight Room is for High School and Adults only
✔ All users must sign in on the Weight Room Sign-In Sheet
✔ Include name, time in, time out, and confirmation equipment was cleaned
✔ Wipe down all equipment after each use
✔ Return equipment to proper storage
✔ Respect the space and equipment
Failure to follow these expectations may result in loss of weight room access.

📣 Schedule Update – Basketball Games Next Weekend 🏀
Due to last-minute team cancellations, the Lockwood Tournament scheduled for next weekend has been postponed until further notice. With only one team remaining, a tournament format is not possible at this time.
Instead, we have adjusted the schedule to host home-and-away conference games with Alakanuk. This change allows our athletes to continue competing while making the best use of the available schedule.
We appreciate the community’s understanding and flexibility with this last-minute change, which was beyond our control. More game details will be shared as they are finalized.

As we head into the holiday break, please review the attached Open Gym holiday schedule. Open Gym will be closed December 24–25 and December 31–January 3, with all other listed dates remaining open.
As a reminder, all students attending Open Gym are expected to come during their assigned time, follow staff directions, use respectful language, share the court, and take care of the gym and equipment.
Important Student Expectations:
-Students must leave Open Gym at the end of their scheduled time unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Older siblings and relatives do not meet the expectation of a guardian.
-Students may not hang out in the foyer, enter hallways, or horseplay outside of the gymnasium. Open Gym activities must remain inside the gym only.
-Climbing on or sitting on the tall bleachers is not permitted for safety reasons.
Consequence:
Students who do not follow these expectations will be asked to leave Open Gym and will be placed on the Gym List for the following day. Unsafe or disrespectful behavior may also result in loss of Open Gym privileges, as outlined in our UNK Open Gym Expectations.

Due to weather-related travel issues, our teams have been delayed in getting to Barrow. Flights were unable to depart due to weather in Nome, and Barrow has now experienced conditions that prevented travel today.
The current plan is to fly tomorrow morning and begin wrestling once all teams arrive.
